Register for the Arts Infopoint UK online Coffee Mornings here.

Our next coffee morning is:

9:30am GMT | 05 December 2023

Topic:  Permit Free Festivals

Our next guest contributors are: Visit, Visa and International Trade Policy Team, UK Government Home Office

Are you a Permit Free Festival or interesting in applying for Permit Free Festival status?

At our next free online coffee-morning we will be joined by UK Government Officials from the Permit Free Festival team.  The team will provide an overview of the Permit Free Festival application process ahead of the upcoming Permit Free Festival deadline.  There will be an opportunity to ask the team questions.

Permit Free Festivals are able to invite international entertainers or artists to take part in their event without the need to issue a certificate of sponsorship under the points-based system. The performers can exceptionally be paid for their participation in the festival under the Standard Visitor route.

Please also come along if you have Permit Free festival Status to share how that works for you.

The requirements for inclusion on the list of permit free festivals are as follows;

·    been established for at least 3 years

·    had an audience of at least 15,000 for each of the last 3 festivals

·    an expected audience of at least 15,000 throughout the forthcoming event

·    at least 15 non-British or Irish performers who have performed at each of the last 3 festivals

·    at least 15 non-British or Irish performers who have been invited for 2023 to 2024

The Visit, Visa and International Trade Policy Team lead on the immigration rules for visitors, including the Permit Free Festival list, and immigration related aspects of UK trade deals with other countries.

Come and join us to hear about the process of applying to become a permit free festival, share your experiences and ask any questions you might have about the application process or any concerns you might have.

Open to all artforms, our monthly online coffee mornings can connect you with other UK-based artists and creative organisations to share cross border working challenges, plans and ambitions. Each session will feature contributions from partners and networks we work with to share current insights and key updates around international mobility.

The coffee mornings usually take place online every first Tuesday of the month between 09:30-10:30am GMT.

Session agendas are shaped by what you and our speaker bring to the day: whether it be administration for exhibitions or productions; supporting artists to come across borders with new immigration rules; or simply joining to connect with others facing similar challenges. Our aim is to create an informal, supportive network of internationally focused peers.

Automatic closed captioning is available during the sessions.
